Welcome to Brokenness Aside! When I started this blog, I was an eighteen year old freshman in college, looking for an outlet for all of the profound things I was learning in my first year – mostly outside the classroom.
I’d written at least four goofy blogs back when I was in middle school and high school (they’re all still out there in the blogosphere somewhere… yikes), and my interest in them fizzled out after a short time. I figured the same thing would happen with this blog but alas, here I am! I chose the title Brokenness Aside with inspiration from the All Sons and Daughters song. The song talks about how broken we are as human beings, but how God still chooses to love and accept us. And that’s exactly what my blog is about.
I don’t just share the highlights and happy-clappy things in my life, but the tough stuff and confusions as well. After all, I tend to learn most lessons through those dark hours anyway!
Here are a few important things to know about me… I’m a vocal music major with a minor in theology. I’m an introvert however I can be the absolute loudest and goofiest person if I’m comfortable around you. Being a sass queen is an intrinsic part of who I am.
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour and His unconditional grace and love are what gets me through each and every day. Well, that and coffee. Getting eight hours of sleep every night is super important to me. Aaand my favourite social media platform is Twitter.
