On Friday while scrolling through social media, I came across a quote:
Do you see that? Do you get that?
"Everything is amazing and nobody is happy."Nobody.
We're constantly focusing on the negative. I'm guilty of this too. I mean, I already stated that last week was rough for me.
We constantly think that God or the universe owes us something. We think that we deserve better - better cars, better jobs, better relationships, better life situations.
But the truth is, we don't deserve better. We're mere ants in this world. And we already have it SO GOOD and yet we don't even realize it because we're always wanting more. We're never ever ever content.
We live in the age of the smart phone, the age of food delivery, online banking, Uber, texting, and so many other amazing things that make our lives far more convenient than people's lives were even just thirty years ago.
And yet we want more.
But let's stop for a moment and be thankful.
I'm healthy, my family is safe, I have money for education, I have a job, I have a smart phone, a laptop, I'm always loved - by family, friends, and most importantly by God.
God is constantly faithful, blessing us with far more than we deserve. He is good at all times, He's gracious, He's unconditionally loving.
I've felt super convicted since seeing that quote on Friday, and so this week I'm making a much more conscious effort to focus on the positives in my life, and find joy in Christ and in His love for me. With Thanksgiving on the horizon, let's all strive to be more thankful and focus on the positive things that we've been blessed with. Because God is good, and everything is amazing.
